The Energy Market & Regulatory Analyst is required to research and analyse information for regular subscription reports on the energy market and produce content for these reports with the rest of the team. The analyst will also support bespoke research and delivery of information for key clients. The analyst might also be required to identify new areas of commercial opportunity within the business and the energy market.
The analyst will be working across the energy market (retail, wholesale, and networks) and across policy and regulatory issues that require in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis. The analyst will work with both consultants and modellers to easily transform complex information to understand subscription reports, training courses and consulting projects.
The analyst will need excellent writing skills and attention to detail. The candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Word, Excel modelling and PowerPoint. The candidate must have a passion for the energy industry, with 2-4 years experience in the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) highly desirable. Proven experience in analysing real NEM data using the following programming languages will be highly desirable: Python, R, VBA, and SQL.
This role will be based in Melbourne, which is considered a great place to live and recently titled Australia’s cultural capital. There is also the option to work remotely from other Australian locations as part of our commitment to flexible working.
