Benjamin is a Senior Storage Consultant in Cornwall Insight’s Australia office, with more than 10 years’ experience in the energy industry. Before beginning at Cornwall Insight, Benjamin was a manager of project execution in the Clean Energy Transition Division of the South Australian Government. Benjamin was responsible for the State’s electricity procurement and the management of energy storage projects funded by the State including both Hornsdale Power Reserve and the South Australian Virtual Power Plant. Prior to this role in government Benjamin was an engineering consultant being a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) since 2015 with degrees from Adelaide University in Electrical Engineering and Finance.
Key projects and experience: Development of storage projects, project justification and financial modelling, energy price forecast scenarios and assumptions, project/contract management, energy market and government procurements, detailed technical and commercial due diligence, National Electricity Market (NEM) grid connections, virtual power plants, community batteries, grid scale batteries, solar thermal, hydrogen, hybrid renewable plants and pumped hydro.
Benjamin’s practical experience leading, developing, evaluating and engineering cutting edge projects in the NEM enables him to provide comprehensive advice on Australian energy market policy and trends through our Market Intelligence Reports. He provides high value to clients using our innovative Power Curve, Battery Revenue forecasting, ISP and FCAS models. Benjamin also delivers storage consultancy projects from inception through to completion and provides energy market training to share the latest market knowledge and insights.
